how many of you?

HowManyOfMe.com

people with my name in the U.S.A.

How many have your name?
So, we've been having fun seeing how many people in the US share our names. There are only 4 of me- I was surprised there were that many! Is there more than 1 of you?
What can I say...we're easily entertained.

6 x 6 x 6 tag

Just noticed I was tagged! Yay! This is the sixth photo in my sixth folder. You knew it would be either Nolan Ryan or Skyleigh Claire. Didn't you?

And here it is: The sixth photo in my sixth folder is a picture of my grandson Noley Ry puddin' pie when he was an almost 1-year-old... he's 2 now. He sure was loving his mac n' cheese! :)

Cheryl from All These Things tagged me! Too fun, Cheryl. If you don't already read her blog, I know you will really enjoy it!

So here are my tags, should you choose to accept them... post the sixth picture in your sixth photo folder and tag six people.

full bloom

I'm busy cutting bunnies and eggs today, but wanted you to see these spring tulips. You'll find them in full bloom here in my shop.

Love happy spring tulips and can't help making a few, even though they're somewhat time consuming to make.

Oh, and the bunnies? No actual bunnies were harmed in today's projects :)

teton meadows

Finished up another shower puff and listed it in my Etsy shop. The first one in these splendid colors... the purples and greens remind me of a spring meadow in Teton National Park.

99 balloons

PEOPLE! Have you seen this video? I just watched it. Again. Even knowing how completely I'd be humbled. It's THAT good.

I am so touched by this young family's maturity and faith, as they love their sweet baby so perfectly in a world that does not always value its little ones.

freshly created

I love this caramel honey capelet! I designed it myself, after exhaustively searching for a pattern. I was needing something to keep my neck and shoulders warm at work, sitting at a computer for hours. And it had to stay put better than a shawl or scarf. And fit under my coat. This is what I came up with. Presto! I've been enjoying mine immensely and have had several requests from friends.... you can find this little wrap in my etsy shop.

grammy snelling's cookies...

OHMY! These are wonderful little cookies. We have them nearly every holiday. The major ones, anyway. They're good with frosting, but at their best rolled thinly and dusted with colored sugar or sprinkles.

These cookies were made with my Grammy Snelling's recipe. They are just slightly different from most sugar cookie recipes I've seen or tried. All of them are good. Delicious even. But to us, Grammy's recipe is the perfect sugar cookie.

Grammy's Sugar Cookies

2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 1/2 teaspoons grated lemon rind (the dried kind in a jar is fine)
1/2 cup Crisco
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 tablespoon cream

Cream together the Crisco and sugar. Add eggs and whip until light and fluffy. Add cream, nutmeg, lemon rind, and baking powder and mix. Stir in flour to make a stiff dough. Chill at least 1 hour. Roll thin and cut out with a floured cookie cutter. Place cookies on a lightly greased cookie sheet. If using sprinkles, add them before baking. Bake at 350, 7 minutes for thin cookies- up to 12 minutes for thicker cookies.

how to know if your brother really loves you. in one easy lesson.

The cast of characters:

LESSON ONE:
1. Go four-wheeling (even though you've never been before). And go ahead. Take your little brother too. Cuz you're nice like that.

2. Have a misunderstanding with a tree. As you fly through the air, wonder how it came to pass you were convinced to go four-wheeling.

3. Tell said little brother that you can't feel your leg. Watch closely his reaction.

4. If he: sprints a half mile to get help. In his barefeet. Because his shoes were lost in mid air.

Only to realize he's hurt as badly as you......
5. Now you know. For sure.
Just in case you ever wonder.
Class dismissed.

ruffled heartstrings

Just finished... Two new Valentine table runners. This one is a "heartstring" of five individual hearts joined together. It's made in rag quilt style, the edges clipped to allow the ruffling effect.

This runner is a simple rectangle with five hearts appliqued across the top. It is also made with the prim rag quilt process. I just love these happy Valentine fabrics and their bright colors!

You can find them in my Etsy shop or on Ebay.

oh, the snow

This is my grandson, Nolan Ryan. He's 2 and he can't believe his eyes. When he woke up there was 5" of snow outside his window. In North Carolina. Nolan has seen this much snow before. Once. At his great-grandparent's home in Pennsylvania. North Carolina? Um, no. Not so much. That is so like God, Nolan. The instant you think you've got it all figured out, thank you very much, you wake up to 5" of something-you-didn't-expect. You gotta love His sense of humor!

Oh, but don't worry, my friends. Nolan recovered from his shock and dismay in time to experience his first Snow Day. Live and in person. Oh, and it was serious fun.

And this cutie? This little lillebarn is my granddaughter, AKA Princess Skyleigh Claire. Couldn't you just eat her up, hairbow and all? She, however, decided not to partcipate in said Snow Day festivities. Oh, yes she most decidedly did. And what was her excellent reason you ask?

She's waiting for her daddy to introduce her to her first snow. When he gets back from his deployment.
Please pray for Nolan & Skyleigh's Daddy to return safely!
