happy birthday, Cody

Cody and Nolan.
My son-in-law is turning 25 today. In Iraq. So very far from his wife and babies. Their sacrifice is hardest on special days. Like today.

Cody, as we celebrate today with you, we pray God's blessings for you today and every day, as you grow in His faith and love in the works he has prepared for you. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the right to demonstrate.

It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the soldier who solutes the flag, serves under the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who gives the protester the right to burn the flag. -- Author Unknown

Won't you please leave a comment with a birthday thought or prayer for Cody?

And please remember Megan, Nolan Ryan, and Skyleigh Claire in your prayers....it's kinda hard on them when their favorite soldier is away.

  9. My hubby spent 18 months in Iraq. It's hard times, but the reunion is GREAT! For the wife, I know the wait is endless, keep in there. There are more people praying for you than you could ever imagine.

  11. Happy Birthday Cody!

My husband spent 1 year away from us twice, along with periods of weeks here and there, during his 21 year USAF days. Understand the difficulties though I only worried about actual hostilities a couple of times. May God wrap them all in His goodness and protection.

Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.

  12. Cody,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Thank you for what you are sacrificing for us. I completely understand what you are going thru since my DH is active duty Army (luckily he is a recruiter at this time and not deployable). He was in Desert Strom and Shield. you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

  14. Happy Birthday Cody. I thank you and your wife and your family for the sacrifice you all are making on our behalf. A soldier isn't just one person, he has a family behind him/her and their hearts are over there too. So thank you all and a very happy birthday.
